AI-Augmented Frontend Engineer
Most frontend roles still treat AI tooling as optional. This one does not.
You will own the interfaces users actually interact with — pulling together React components, backend API integrations, and AI-powered UX elements into applications that are fast, accessible, and maintainable. The work ranges from building reusable component libraries to wiring in chat widgets, AI search, and LLM-driven interactions that are increasingly expected in modern products.
Every engineer here is expected to be AI-native. That means using tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code as a normal part of the workflow — not as a novelty — and understanding enough about AI applications to make sensible decisions when integrating them into the frontend.
Who thrives here
You have 3–5 years of frontend development behind you and React.js is genuinely comfortable territory. You care about performance and scalability, not just shipping screens. You read code as carefully as you write it — code reviews are not a formality to you. You want to build interfaces that matter, accelerated by tooling that raises the ceiling on what one engineer can ship.
What you'll own
- Develop modern web applications using React.js
- Build reusable UI components and frontend libraries for use across products
- Integrate frontend applications with backend REST APIs
- Optimise applications for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams throughout delivery
- Participate in code reviews and frontend architecture discussions
- Integrate AI-powered features — chat widgets, AI search, LLM-driven UX — into frontend applications
- Use AI coding assistants and design-to-code tools to accelerate component scaffolding and prototyping
What it takes
- 3–5 years of frontend development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with Redux, Context API, or equivalent state management
- Understanding of responsive design principles
- Experience integrating REST APIs
- Fluency with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0, Claude Code) as part of a standard development workflow
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js
- Frontend performance optimisation skills
- Exposure to ecommerce or consumer-facing applications
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and CI/CD processes
