AI Automation Engineer (Web – Playwright)
Enterprise web automation is only as good as the framework behind it. Flaky tests, brittle locators, and manual triage erode trust in the suite over time. This role exists to prevent that — and to raise the bar.
You will design and build Playwright-based frameworks from scratch, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and apply AI-assisted techniques to make them faster and more resilient. That means using AI coding assistants to scaffold and maintain suites, applying self-healing locator strategies, generating test scenarios from PRDs with LLMs, and using AI tooling to surface and triage flaky tests before they become noise.
This is a client-facing position. You will work directly with QA, developers, business analysts, and product teams — and with the clients who rely on the output. Communication and the ability to present clearly are not soft requirements here; they are as central to the role as the code you write.

What you'll own
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Automate functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Build reusable automation components and integrate suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Apply AI-assisted techniques: self-healing locators, visual regression, LLM-generated test scenarios, and flaky-test triage.
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and keep frameworks maintainable at scale.
- Collaborate with QA, developers, business analysts, and product teams across client engagements.
- Participate in code reviews and prepare clear test reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
What it takes
- 4–6+ years of software testing and automation experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Playwright experience (mandatory).
- Excellent hands-on TypeScript/JavaScript; demonstrated experience building frameworks from scratch.
- Strong command of Page Object Model, REST API testing, CI/CD integration, Git, and automation best practices.
- Fluent with AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and AI-based testing strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — client-facing engagement is a core part of this role.
