You test the whole system end to end - web, API, database and the AI features sitting on top of it - and you catch what breaks before a client does.

Most QA hires can test a UI or run a script. This role is for someone who can trace a defect through every layer it touches: a UI break in the browser, a request/response mismatch in the API layer, a bad value in a SQL query, and now, increasingly, an AI feature returning an answer that isn't quite right. AI-enabled applications don't remove the need for rigorous manual testing - they add a layer of validation on top of it, and this role sits at the meeting point of the two.

You will own end-to-end manual testing across web applications, APIs, backend services and databases, working from business requirements through to signed-off test cases and defects logged, triaged and retested. Alongside that, you will bring a working understanding of AI/GenAI concepts to validate relevance, correctness, consistency and expected behaviour in AI-enabled features - spotting hallucinations, prompt/response mismatches and inconsistent outputs the way you'd spot any other defect.

What you'll own

Perform end-to-end manual testing of web applications, APIs, backend services and databases
Analyse business and functional requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases and test data
Execute functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke, sanity and UAT testing
Perform API testing using Postman, validating request/response payloads
Validate REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication, JSON payloads and error handling
Perform backend/database validation using SQL queries
Validate data flow between UI, APIs, databases and downstream/upstream systems
Identify, document, track and retest defects using tools such as JIRA
Participate in defect triage, working closely with developers, product owners and business teams
Test applications across browsers, devices and environments
Perform basic validation of AI/GenAI-enabled features - relevance, correctness, consistency and expected behaviour
Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, grooming, daily stand-ups and retrospectives

What it takes

3–5 years of hands-on manual testing experience
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC and defect lifecycle
Strong experience in functional, regression, integration, E2E, exploratory and UAT testing
Hands-on API testing experience using Postman
Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods and status codes
Good working knowledge of SQL and database validation
Experience testing web/UI applications
Ability to understand system integrations and perform end-to-end validation
Experience with JIRA or similar defect-management tools
Good analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
Awareness of AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI basics, including LLM concepts (GPT, Gemini, Claude or similar)
Basic understanding of prompt/response validation, hallucination, relevance and factual correctness
